Writing Samples
The Pathway Program has helped me improve my English writing skills. Following are a couple of writing samples from the Pathway courses that demonstrate my writing abilities:
Graduate Classroom Language Portfolio (GCLP)
The Graduate Classroom Language Portfolio (GCLP) were writing assignments given in the EAP-508 course. The purpose of the GCLPs was to guide me through the process of summarizing and responding to academic texts while introducing me to important concepts related to the experiences of international graduate students. There were a total of 6 assignments which involved reading and annotating scholarly and academic articles each week. Based on the annotations, an analytical summary of about 500-750 words was to be written every week. Along with the summary, we were required to submit a set of 5 discussion questions based on our understanding of the article. These assignments really got my mind to think critically and made me analyse the articles to form my own view of it. Regular feedback from the professors each week helped me ameliorate my writing skills.

Curiosity Paper
This was an assignment that was part of the Multi-Disciplinary Colloquium Project (MCP) in the EAP-508 course. The motive behind writing the Curiosity Paper was to identify a key research topic in my field of major. It was an assignment which engaged me to pre-research about the technology relating to my academic interests. The writing starts off with an introduction about me, my background and brief information about telecommunications. It also states my goals and interests in my discipline.
This Paper talks about the new Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology that is a feature of the current 4th generation (4G) mobile network. The features, uses and future potential of VoLTE is discussed.
